Frequently Asked Questions

No. I am Pilates teacher trained in Polestar Pilates, which was developed by a physical therapist and is grounded in the science of rehabilitation, but I am not a physical therapist. If you are in PT I have happy to collaborate with your doctor to ensure our goals are in alignment and your needs are met.

No. I am also a licensed clinical social worker, but that isn’t what we are doing at Bluebird Pilates AFM. You will gain skills for nervous system regulation and embodiment practices, however, if you are seeking mental health therapy you can visit my other website www.saltandsunapothecary.com. Please know, either I can be your Pilates instructor, or your therapist, but I can’t do both.

This depends on your injury and situation. If you are in an acute phase of injury, working with your PT is the best next step. Once your PT feels you are ready to step-up to doing Pilates, this is the right place for you. In fact, Pilates is a great bridge between PT and returning to your usual activity or sport.
